Mission Statement

Our Aims

What we aim to do - 'Together We Can!'
At Wainstalls we aim to deliver a high quality education which is built on cooperation and a dedication to meet each child's individual needs in the broadest sense. We believe that this cannot be achieved solely in school but must be a partnership between all concerned.

To help you understand what we see as the various roles and responsibilities we produce a Home/School Agreement (most recent issue September 2003) and ask that this is discussed with children and that the slip is signed and returned to school.

At the beginning of each term we provide information about what your child will be learning. This may help if you are planning a visit to a museum, for example, or for planning what you need to learn to help with homework!

The school has a homework policy and you can expect your child to bring home reading, spelling, maths and other tasks through the school year. Homework is defined 'as any activity done outside the classroom' and the often-heard statement that, I haven't got any homework!' is rarely true. We hope you will be able to help in whatever way you can but if you need any advice just call us.

We welcome any help from parents/carers in our school. There is always a thousand things to do. We have helped to organise and support Helping in Schools courses in the past and these have even led to parent helpers becoming teachers themselves - we're very proud of this. Should you wish to volunteer your help simply contact the school and we will make arrangements for you to come along.

The school is superbly supported by the Friends of Wainstalls which works to raise funds for less 'everyday' items. We usually meet once every half term at a local pub (no-one on ceremony here!) and we always appreciate new people coming along. Check the school's and FOW's newsletters for more info.
