Admissions Arrangements
For all in-year admissions please contact the school office at Wainstalls directly. Since September 2013, academies can accept in-year admission applications directly from parents. An in-year admission application is one that is made outside of the normal time of transfer between schools, for example when a family moves to a new house part way through a school year.

Admissions to Reception Class in 2025
Your child will be eligible for a Primary School place from September 2025, if they were born between:
- 1st September 2020;
- and 31st August 2021.
Calderdale Council co-ordinates admissions to all schools within Calderdale. If you live within Calderdale, you must complete a Calderdale online application, even if you wish to choose a school outside the Calderdale area as one of your preferences. Parents of children resident outside Calderdale, who want to apply for a Calderdale school must apply through their home local authority.

The deadline for applying for a place for your child for Reception Class in September 2024 is 15th January 2025. Applications can be made from 17th November 2024 onwards and need to be completed through the Local Authority's Primary Admissions portal. If you are considering including Wainstalls School as one of your chosen schools, you are very welcome to visit the school to meet with the Principal and/or alternatively please join us at our scheduled 'Play-Ins' the date of which will be confirmed. Please contact the office for further details.
THE LOCAL AUTHORITY INFORMS ALL PARENTS AND CARERS OF THE SCHOOL THAT THEIR CHILD HAS BEEN OFFERED ON NATIONAL OFFER DAY ON 16TH APRIL 2025.
Please note that for the appeals, these are scheduled from the beginning of June through to mid July. We can’t be more specific on dates until Calderdale know how many appeals there are. Appeal requests for the Academy should be directed to the LA after offer date for anyone who has been refused a place and the LA will present appeals on the Academy’s behalf.
