Hannah Cockroft MBE
Hannah Cockcroft is the reigning World, European and Paralympics Champion, winning three gold medals in both the 100m and 200m in the 20011 and 2013 World Championships, two gold medals in the London 2012 Paralympics and in 2014 won two further golds in the IPC European Championships over 100m and 800m. The seven-time Paralympic, 11-time Worlds and three-time European champion secured the one title that was missing from her collection: the Commonwealth Games, which she won on the first day of the track and field competition at Birmingham 2022 on 2 August.
Hannah started her school days here at Wainstalls and we were delighted when she took time out of her busy schedule training for the Commonwealth Games in 2022, to spend a special morning with us all at school when we officially opened our fantastic new MUGA.
We are all very proud of Hannah and her amazing achievements and our pupils aspire to become as successful as her one day. Hannah is currently the T34 World Record holder in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m.
